Physical Characteristics: Leopards are renowned for their striking coat patterns, adorned with dark spots known as rosettes, arranged in circular or oval shapes. Their fur displays a spectrum of hues from golden yellow to tawny, providing superb camouflage in their natural surroundings. With a sleek and muscular physique, leopards excel as agile climbers and formidable predators.

Habitat and Range: Highly adaptable, leopards thrive in various habitats including forests, grasslands, savannas, and even mountainous terrains. Their habitat spans from sub-Saharan Africa to parts of Asia, encompassing India, China, and Southeast Asia.

Behavior and Lifestyle: Primarily nocturnal, leopards prefer hunting under the cover of darkness. They lead solitary lives, except during mating season or while rearing offspring. Leopards exhibit adept tree-climbing skills, often hoisting their prey into the safety of branches to evade scavengers.

Diet and Hunting: As carnivores, leopards maintain a diverse diet comprising deer, wild boar, antelope, and smaller prey such as rodents and birds. Mastering the art of ambush, they rely on stealth and surprise to capture their quarry. Their robust jaws and razor-sharp claws empower them to subdue prey larger than themselves.

Conservation Status: Leopards confront perilous threats including habitat degradation, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Designated as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), their survival is under constant threat.
